There were a lot of rails at the ’66 Autorama. This injected dragster was known as Somethin Wild. That isn’t a mistake, that is how “Somethin” is painted on the car.
I don’t have much more information than that. There is a sign next to the car, but aside from the fact that it ran as a B/Gas dragster, I can’t decipher any of the information.
This is another small-block Chevy powered car, with fuel injection, a huge magneto and wide rearward aimed headers. This a definitely a “square back” car with a full body.
I believe it was an orange-yellow color.
There is a “for sale” sign in front of the right rear tire. Did the car sell? Did the new owners repaint or refurbish the little rail? Did the original owners go on to a bigger and better race car? Does the car still exist?
I don’t know the answers, but someone probably does.
I’d really like to know.
